In addition to offering a wide array of challenging, state-of-the-art contemporary dance performances through our Festival weekend, the GCDF is pleased to provide various opportunities for you to experience our art form first-hand and directly engage with Festival artists.

Our Public Workshops with Festival artists include Contemporary African Dance with Gibson Muriva (Saturday, June 4th, 9:30 – 11am) and Gaga and Creative Movement with Dana Katz (Sunday, June 5th 5, 9:30 – 11am). Workshops are held at Temple Studios (42 Quebec St.). Photo by Jamie MacDonald

Youth Dance Day, a program for Guelph and surrounding area youth (ages 14-19) to immerse themselves in the field of contemporary dance for a day. Now in its 2nd year, Youth Dance Day offers a stimulating, inspiring and educational experience for youth through an up-close and interactive experience with contemporary dance. This year’s program includes
In the Street performances, dance workshop and artist chat with Gabrielle Martin (Pulse and Puppet), a River Run Centre backstage tour, and a Stage A dress rehearsal viewing.
